PGA Championship Delayed Due to Incident Involving Golfer Scottie Scheffler and Tragic Accident
World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler found himself in a tense situation as he was detained by police in Louisville, Kentucky, just before the start of the second round of the PGA Championship. The incident occurred when a misunderstanding with traffic flow led to Scheffler’s attempt to drive past a police officer into Valhalla Golf Club.
The start of the second round was further delayed due to a tragic accident involving a shuttle bus that struck and killed a pedestrian outside the golf club. The Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed the unfortunate incident to ESPN.
According to reports, the police officer tried to stop Scheffler’s car, leading to a confrontation where Scheffler was eventually handcuffed. The incident took place as the unidentified man was crossing Shelbyville Road outside the club’s gate and was hit by a bus in a lane designated for buses.
