Transformers-G.I. Joe Crossover Movie Announced by Paramount
Paramount has officially confirmed the much-anticipated crossover between Transformers and G.I. Joe for a new feature film. The concept is drawn from the storyline depicted in the 1980s Marvel-published comics of Hasbro brands. This collaboration was hinted at in the conclusion of last year’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, where a member of the Michael Kelly approaches Transformers’ hero played by Anthony Ramos in a secret bunker.
Steven Spielberg is set to serve as the executive producer for the upcoming film. Despite the initial idea being conceived by filmmaker Steven Caple Jr. in Rise of the Beasts, no director has been attached to the project yet.
Caple Jr. has expressed his involvement in talks for another Transformers movie following the success of Rise of the Beasts, which garnered a global box office revenue of close to $439 million. This surpassed the earnings of Disney/Lucasfilm’s franchise finale, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which amounted to just over $383 million.
