Oscar Mayer seeks ‘hotdoggers’ to travel the country in Wienermobile

Oscar Mayer, the renowned meat and cold cuts company, is on the lookout for the next group of ‘hotdoggers’ to embark on a yearlong journey as brand ambassadors. The selected candidates will have the unique opportunity to traverse the country in the iconic 27-foot-long Wienermobile, engaging with hot dog enthusiasts while earning a salary of $35,600.

The role of a hotdogger involves traveling approximately 20,000 miles and making appearances in at least 40 cities to host pop-up events, feature on local media, and produce content for social platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. This position not only offers a chance to represent the brand but also provides a platform to contribute to various social media channels, making it a highly sought-after opportunity.

Ed Roland, the spokesperson for Oscar Mayer, likened the hotdoggers to a mobile PR firm, emphasizing their significant role in generating engaging content for Kraft Heinz. The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to partake in unique experiences, such as introducing hot dog-flavored ice pops in New York City and officiating weddings at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas.

The compensation package for the hotdogger role includes a base salary of $35,600 per year, in addition to a weekly allowance of $150 for meals and personal travel. Furthermore, the position encompasses health benefits, 18 days of paid time off, and fully covered hotel stays, making it a comprehensive employment package.

With the company typically receiving between 1,000 to 1,500 applications for just 12 open spots, the competition for the title of hotdogger is fierce. The role is described as rare and highly sought after, reflecting the desirability of the position among job seekers.
