OnePlus to Unveil OnePlus Watch 2 with 100-Hour Battery Life at MWC 2024

OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its latest smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 2, at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The Chinese tech company has provided a sneak peek of the device, touting an impressive 100-hour battery life in ‘Smart Mode’ and featuring a stainless steel chassis with a sapphire crystal watch face. The smartwatch will be available in two colors, black steel and radiant steel.

Despite the early reveal, there are still many details yet to be disclosed, such as whether the watch will run on Google’s Wear OS or its own operating system, as well as the pricing. The predecessor, OnePlus Watch from 2021, boasted a battery life of one to two weeks but operated on its proprietary OS, resembling more of a fitness tracker than a smartwatch. However, the 100-hour battery life of the OnePlus Watch 2 surpasses that of many competing watches from major players like Apple, Google, and Samsung, which typically last for one to two days.

While the TicWatch 5 Pro with its purported 80-hour battery life in lower power mode comes close among the Wear OS watches, Garmin and Amazfit also make similar battery life claims but run on their own operating systems with limited app support.

OnePlus is set to reveal more about the OnePlus Watch 2 during the MWC event on Monday, Feb. 26. This launch follows the recent unveiling of OnePlus 12 and 12R phones, which have received positive reviews for their battery performance.
