Exciting news for all gaming enthusiasts as Nintendo announces the upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate championship tournaments set to take place in August 2024. The Mario Kart™ 8 Deluxe Championship 2024 tournament is scheduled for August 24, followed by the Super Smash Bros.™ Ultimate Championship 2024 tournament on August 25. Both events will be live-streamed, starting at 12:00 p.m. PT, offering players the chance to qualify and showcase their skills.

For the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2024, the top six players from the Qualifier tournament will have the opportunity to compete in the main event. Similarly, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Championship 2024 will invite the top four players from the Qualifier tournament and the top two from the NintendoVS Challenge Cup June 2024 tournament to participate. Tournament Overview

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2024 Qualifier tournament will feature the following settings:

• Teams: No Teams
• Items: Normal Items
• COM: Normal COM
• Vehicles: All Vehicles
• Smart Steering: No
• Frequency: Fixed Period
• Race Count: 24 Races
• Group Shuffling: Every 4th Match
• Player Rating: Any
• Public/Private: Code Required

To register, participate in the Tournament in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. PT on May 19 and May 26. Access the Tournament by selecting Online Play, Tournaments, Search by Code, and enter the respective codes provided.

Prizes

The top 24 players each day will receive 2,500 My Nintendo™ Gold Points as rewards.

Secure a top-two position in the NintendoVS Challenge Cup of June 2024 tournament for a chance to be invited to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Championship 2024 tournament in August. Showcase your skills on June 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT for a shot at the title and My Nintendo™ Gold Points.

Tournament Registration

To enter the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament, participate in the game between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. PT on June 16. Access the Tournament within the game by selecting Online, Smash, Official Tourney Qualifiers, and agreeing to the Tournament rules.

Players will compete in a 1v1 ladder format with the following settings:

• Format: 1v1
• Stocks: 2
• Time: 5 minutes
