Nigerian Students to Compete in 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship

Six students from various secondary schools in Nigeria have been selected to represent the country at the 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) in Disneyland, Anaheim, California. The competition, scheduled for July 28-31, 2024, attracts students from over 150 countries annually.

The Nigerian representatives emerged as winners of the 2024 MOS Nigeria competition organized by ReadManna between October 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. Over the past 15 years, Nigeria has achieved second and third place in the World Championship and consistently placed in the top 10.

Mrs. Edna Agusto, the CEO of ReadManna Empowerment Initiative (REI), highlighted the significance of the championship in testing students’ proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The Nigerian leg of the competition is sponsored by Zenith Bank, encouraging students to showcase their skills in these widely used productivity tools.

The MOS certification programme evaluates and validates participants’ expertise in Microsoft office applications, essential for businesses globally. Winning the 2024 Microsoft Office Specialist in Nigeria is a remarkable achievement for the students and a testament to their ICT skills.
