A recent report from DualShockers suggests that Creative Assembly is currently working on a new Total War game set in the Star Wars universe. According to the report, this Star Wars Total War game is one of three Total War games in development, with the Star Wars installment expected to be the second to be released.
While specific details about the game’s development timeline remain unclear, rumors of a futuristic Total War game set in the Star Wars universe first surfaced in late 2022. Additional sources have since corroborated this information, lending credibility to the rumors.
Currently, Creative Assembly is focusing on a significant update for Total War: Pharaoh. Following the cancellation of projects like Hyenas, the company has not officially announced its other ongoing projects. In late 2023, SEGA disclosed plans to reduce costs by canceling certain projects and downsizing staff.
Hyenas, a canceled project by Creative Assembly, was reportedly nearing completion and was one of the company’s most expensive undertakings. The decision to cancel the project was part of cost-saving measures implemented by the company.
