The SeaFlower Village Center in West Bradenton, Florida, is set to welcome a new Publix Super Markets store, marking a significant addition to the planned community. This new store, spanning 50,000 square feet, will serve as the first tenant in the SeaFlower Village Center, which is part of a nearly 1,200-acre mixed-use development.
According to reports, the developers of the SeaFlower community have submitted plans to Manatee County for the establishment of the Publix store, strategically located south of the intersection of Cortez Road and 75th Street West. This new location will be approximately two miles away from the existing Publix at the Bradenton Commons shopping center.
Edward Hill, managing director of Lake Flores Land Co., expressed enthusiasm about the new Publix, stating, “Introducing a Publix to the SeaFlower community exemplifies the thoughtfully designed, connected neighborhood we’ve been envisioning in collaboration with Manatee County for over a decade.” He emphasized that residents will benefit from convenient access to shopping and public spaces within their community, as additional stores and amenities are developed in the SeaFlower Village Center.
In addition to the main supermarket, plans are also in place for a separate Publix liquor store. While the opening dates for both the supermarket and the liquor store have yet to be announced, the project is expected to enhance the local shopping experience significantly.
The SeaFlower development is designed to accommodate a total of 4,000 residential units, complemented by a 2.5-mile multi-modal trail that will facilitate walking, biking, and golf cart travel, connecting various SeaFlower communities to the Village Center. Residents are anticipated to begin moving into their new homes starting next summer, further integrating the community.
Publix Super Markets, known for being employee-owned and operated, boasts a workforce of over 255,000 associates and operates more than 1,300 supermarkets across several states, including Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky. The company, headquartered in Lakeland, Florida, has been recognized as No. 12 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2024 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America, and has also been honored as one of the Retailers of the Century.
This new development not only signifies growth for Publix but also reflects the ongoing expansion of retail options within the West Bradenton area, catering to the needs of a growing population and enhancing the overall community experience.
As the SeaFlower Village Center continues to develop, it promises to bring a variety of shopping and lifestyle options to residents, making it a vibrant hub for both new and existing community members.
Stay tuned for more updates on the opening of the Publix store and other developments within the SeaFlower community, as this project unfolds in the coming months.
