New Kids on the Block Reunite for First Album in Over a Decade

A legendary nineties boyband has reunited for a new album, 40 years after the original lineup. Massachusetts boyband New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) has delighted fans with the announcement of their first album in over a decade. The iconic boyband found fame in the nineties and their new album features 14 new tracks. The band has unveiled a tantalizing glimpse of their upcoming 14-song album with the release of the standout single Kids. The album titled Still Kids promises to be their ‘most fun’ and ‘most comfortable’ to date. Set to drop on May 17th, the album is filled with pop anthems and love songs for new and old-style Blockheads. Its release marks the band’s huge return to the music scene in 11 years. NKOTB will debut their single Kids on The Kelly Clarkson Show this Friday.

Speaking about the upcoming album, founding member Donnie, brother of Mark Wahlberg, explained: ‘It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made. Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.’ He added: ‘This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle. It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.’ Joey McIntyre agreed: ‘It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth – after almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.’

The lineup includes Joey and Donnie alongside Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, and Danny Wood. In addition to the new album, NKOTB is set to hit the road in June for the Magic Summer 2024 North American tour, two years on from their last one. Joining them will be DJ Jazzy Jeff and Taylor Dayne, who both appear on Still Kids. Formed in 1984, NKOTB released their self-titled debut album in the mid-80s, marking the beginning of their journey into the music scene. They remained a firm fixture of the charts with subsequent records.
