Nebraska’s Basketball Coach Shakes Up Training Regimen

Nebraska’s head basketball coach, Fred Hoiberg, is shaking things up in the team’s training regimen. Load management, a common practice in sports, has been thrown out the window by Hoiberg in an effort to toughen up his squad.

Hoiberg expressed his disregard for the load plan laid out by the analytics and sports science department, stating, ‘We need to go hard, we need to go physical.’ This decision comes in the wake of Nebraska’s recent struggles, particularly on the road, where they have been outworked by their opponents.

The team has endured three grueling days of practice, with Hoiberg emphasizing the need for increased physicality. Guard Brice Williams acknowledged the team’s lack of physicality, attributing it to their recent losses. With a 15-6 overall record and a 5-5 standing in the Big Ten, the Huskers are on the bubble for tournament hopes.

Despite their struggles on the road, Nebraska has shown strength at home, boasting a 13-1 record. However, their upcoming game against Wisconsin, a formidable opponent with a hot streak, poses a significant challenge. Wisconsin previously defeated Nebraska 88-72 in an earlier matchup, making the upcoming game a crucial opportunity for the Huskers.

Hoiberg emphasized the importance of the upcoming game, stating, ‘We needed three really tough days in a row to prepare for it.’ The coach’s determination to instill a greater level of physicality and resilience in his team reflects his commitment to turning their season around.
