Moye White Law Firm to Wind Down Operations as Lawyers and Staff Join Fennemore Craig

Denver’s legal landscape is set to undergo a significant change as Moye White, a prominent law firm with a 47-year history, prepares to wind down its operations. This decision comes as a result of the majority of its lawyers and staff accepting offers to join Fennemore Craig, a move that will lead to the closure of Moye White’s doors.

Fennemore Craig, a well-established firm, is set to welcome around 50 lawyers and 30 staff from Moye White to its local office in Denver on April 16. The acquisition marks Fennemore’s fourth large group lateral hire of 2024, highlighting the firm’s strategic expansion plans.

James Goodnow, CEO of Fennemore Craig, expressed his confidence in the mass lateral hiring approach, stating, ‘It’s a very clean way to do a transaction.’ Goodnow also mentioned that the addition of the Moye White team aligns with Fennemore’s goal to capture emerging areas of demand for legal services, particularly in the biotech and renewable energy sectors.

As Moye White prepares to wind down its operations, the legal community in Denver is bracing for the impact of this significant development. With Fennemore Craig’s expansion, the legal landscape in the region is poised for a notable shift.
