Mortal Kombat 1 Update: Unexpected Balance Changes

Mortal Kombat 1 received an unexpected update earlier this week, featuring balance changes in preparation for the ongoing free weekend event. Rooflemonger, a prominent figure in the gaming community, has unveiled a comprehensive visual guide showcasing the surprising nerfs introduced in the new update.

Johnny Cage, a popular character in the game, experienced a significant alteration as his down + 1 attack, previously one of the only 6-frame startup attacks, now takes 7 frames to execute. Additionally, his 1, 1 move is now less advantageous on block. Another character, Kenshi, saw a reduction in chip damage for his Ancestor Stand attacks, limiting his ability to pressure opponents. Raiden’s Electromagnetic Storm moves also suffered a decrease in block damage, although they still retain their potency, as demonstrated by Rooflemonger.

Peacemaker, a recently introduced character, underwent adjustments, including nerfs to his gun shot extensions and the cooldown on Eagley. Furthermore, Kung Lao’s Buzz Saw received increased cooldown and reduced recharge rate, while Stryker’s Low Grenade Toss saw a reduction in recharge time.

Rooflemonger’s insightful video provides a detailed overview of these changes, highlighting their impact on gameplay. Players can witness the adjustments in action and gain a deeper understanding of their implications. The update has undoubtedly reshaped the game’s dynamics, prompting enthusiasts to explore the revised strategies and adapt to the modified gameplay.
