Microsoft to Feature Call of Duty in Xbox Game Pass at Upcoming Showcase

Microsoft is set to make a major announcement during its upcoming Xbox showcase in June, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. The tech giant is reportedly planning to add the next installment of the popular game franchise, Call of Duty, to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

There have been internal debates at Microsoft regarding the inclusion of new releases of Call of Duty into Game Pass. Some concerns were raised about the potential impact on revenue that is typically generated from individual sales of the game, which usually retail for around $70 each with over 20 million copies sold on average.

While the exact details are still unclear, it is yet to be confirmed whether Microsoft will charge an additional fee for Call of Duty within Game Pass or if there will be a revision in the Game Pass Ultimate subscription fee. Speculations suggest that Microsoft has been contemplating a price increase for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The next Call of Duty game is rumored to be set during the ’90s Gulf War and is expected to be released by Activision in late October. Microsoft’s Xbox showcase on June 9th will feature a special Call of Duty presentation following the main event, with plans to unveil a new Gears of War game as well. The showcase will also provide updates on release dates for upcoming Xbox titles including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Excitement is building up as the gaming community eagerly awaits the latest developments from Microsoft’s gaming division. Stay tuned for more updates as the Xbox showcase approaches!
