Microsoft Edge Introduces New RAM Slider Feature for Users

Microsoft is working on a new feature for its Edge browser that will allow users to limit the amount of RAM it uses. This new RAM slider feature has been spotted in test builds of the browser and is expected to provide more control over the browser’s resource usage.

The RAM slider is designed to cater to PC gamers, with a setting that allows users to limit the amount of RAM when playing a PC game or at all times. The slider provides options ranging from 1GB to 16GB on a system with 16GB of RAM, but Microsoft warns that setting a low limit may impact browser speed.

While the exact release date for this feature is still unclear, it is currently being tested in Canary versions of Edge. The RAM slider will also be available in the browser essentials section, alongside the power efficiency mode, which was introduced by Microsoft years ago to improve the browser’s RAM, CPU, and battery usage.

With this upcoming feature, Edge users, particularly PC gamers, will have the ability to manage and optimize the browser’s RAM usage based on their specific needs. Stay tuned for further updates on the release of this new RAM control feature for Microsoft Edge.
