Microsoft Bing Outage Affects Search Features on Various Platforms

Microsoft Bing experiences an outage that is affecting various search features such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and DuckDuckGo. The issue, believed to be linked to Bing’s API, has caused these platforms to either be completely unavailable or only intermittently responsive. The problem, which started around 3 AM ET, seems to be directly related to Bing’s API and any service that depends on it. While Bing itself was initially impacted, it now appears to be functioning correctly.

Search engines like DuckDuckGo, which rely on Bing’s API, are currently displaying error messages and are unable to load search results. Similarly, Ecosia is experiencing the same issue. Microsoft’s Copilot is stuck in a loading loop, preventing users from accessing the service. ChatGPT, a service that allows Plus subscribers to conduct web searches, is also showing error messages when attempting to search.

Microsoft has acknowledged the loading problems with Copilot and is actively working to identify the root cause. At present, Microsoft’s service health platform does not indicate any other service outages. OpenAI and Ecosia have also confirmed that they are facing search feature issues and are investigating the matter.

The situation is still unfolding, and more updates are expected. Stay tuned for further developments.
