The Metropolitan Opera is set to conclude its 2023-24 season of Saturday matinee radio broadcasts with a captivating performance of Gluck’s ‘Orfeo ed Euridice’ on June 8. This opera, which delves into the enduring influence of music, will feature countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo as Orpheus and soprano Ying Fang as Eurydice.
The production will also mark soprano Elena Villalón’s network broadcast debut as the god Amore, with J. David Jackson leading the Met orchestra and chorus in bringing Gluck’s emotive and graceful score to life.
