Meta Introduces TweetDeck-Like Feature on Threads Messaging App

Meta, the parent company of popular social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, is rolling out a new feature for its messaging app Threads that resembles the beloved TweetDeck interface. This new feature aims to enhance the user experience by allowing for customizable feeds and real-time updates.

The TweetDeck-like experience on Threads will enable users to organize their content into columns, similar to how TweetDeck operated before it underwent changes. Users selected for the test will have the option to create separate columns for different categories such as searches, tags, accounts, saved posts, and notifications. Additionally, users can choose to have specific columns update in real time.

Meta spokesperson Seine Kim highlighted the flexibility of the new feature, stating that users can opt for a single feed or create multiple columns based on their preferences. The interface closely resembles TweetDeck, a popular tool among power users, journalists, and marketers for its customizable feeds and multiple account support.

This update comes in response to feedback from Threads users who expressed frustration with the algorithm-driven feed that greeted them upon accessing the platform. With the new TweetDeck-like interface, users will have more control over their content consumption and can access a chronological recent tab for searches, providing a more user-friendly experience.

Overall, the integration of a TweetDeck-inspired interface into Threads showcases Meta’s commitment to improving user engagement and customization within its messaging app. As the testing phase commences, users can look forward to a more tailored and dynamic experience when browsing through their feeds on Threads.
