Measles Case Confirmed in New Hampshire Resident

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has confirmed a case of measles in an unvaccinated resident of the state. This individual is believed to have been infected by an international traveler with measles who visited Hanover, New Hampshire in late June. This case is part of a cluster that includes three individuals, with one case also confirmed in Vermont.

The infected resident visited several public locations while contagious, potentially exposing individuals who are not immune to the virus, including those who have not been vaccinated or previously infected, individuals with compromised immune systems, and infants who have not yet received the measles vaccine.

Locations where exposure may have occurred include Peppermint Patty’s in Grantham, Sierra Trading Post in West Lebanon, Dartmouth Co-op in Hanover, and ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care waiting room in Lebanon. DHHS advises anyone who was at these locations during the specified dates and times to monitor their health and check their immunity status.
