Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing Testing ‘Hulk’ Brake Discs for 2024 F1 Season

Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing are gearing up for the 2024 Formula 1 season with a new addition to their car – the ‘Hulk’ brake discs from the renowned Italian brand Brembo. RacingNews365 can confirm from the Bahrain circuit that both Verstappen and Sergio Perez have been testing these brake discs during the pre-season.

These ‘Hulk’ brake discs, which stands for Happy Until Last Kilometer, are expected to play a crucial role in Verstappen’s pursuit of the world title in 2024. Red Bull had previously used Brembo calipers in 2023, and this year they have decided to incorporate Brembo brake discs as well, replacing the ones supplied by Carbon Industries last season.

Verstappen and the team have been on a constant quest for improvement, and after conducting tests with the Brembo brake discs in 2023, they decided to give it a go during the pre-season test days in Bahrain. The positive feedback received during these test sessions led to the decision to race with ‘The Hulk’ brake discs throughout the current F1 season.

According to technical specialist Paolo Filisetti, the decision to opt for Brembo brake discs was influenced by their ability to wear less quickly and deliver improved performance. Despite being comparable in weight to the previous brake discs, the Brembo discs have shown promising results in terms of durability and performance, making them a favorable choice for a skilled driver like Verstappen.
