Leaked Specifications Confirm Existence of PS5 Pro ‘Trinity’ Model

The highly anticipated PS5 Pro has been the subject of leaks and rumors, and now specifications and internal documents have surfaced, seemingly confirming its existence. Referred to as ‘Trinity’, a nod to the original codename of the PS4 Pro, the PS5 Pro is expected to bring significant advancements over the base model PS5, which is almost four years old. While much attention is drawn to the teraflops the PS5 Pro will deliver, it is essential to delve into the leaked specifications and understand the impact on gaming, as well as the introduction of the new ‘PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution’ technology.

CPU

One of the more subtle changes in the PS5 Pro is the use of the same Zen 2-based, 8-core 16 thread AMD CPU as the current PS5. According to the leaked documents, the PS5 Pro will incorporate a ‘High CPU Frequency Mode’, offering a modest 10% increase over the original 3.5GHz speed. This enhancement, reaching 3.85GHz, comes at a minor cost of 1% reduction in the new GPU clock speed.
