Krispy Kreme Introduces Limited-Edition Friends Doughnut Collection to Celebrate 30th Anniversary

Calling all Friends fans! From Joey to Rachel to Monica; everyone is familiar with the beloved cast of Friends. Now, to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the first-ever episode back in 1994, one popular doughnut chain has introduced a limited-edition collection to honor the iconic six-piece.

Aptly named Friends, We Were On A Coffee Break, How You Doin’? and Trifle, the Krispy Kreme collection will be available online and in UK stores until July 21. Each doughnut was named and designed after the show’s famous catchphrases and features, from a foodie favorite to one of the central features of the apartment.

The Friends doughnut keeps it simple with an original glaze, chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles, embellished with the TV show’s famous logo. Elsewhere, the witty We Were On A Coffee Break references perhaps the most famous relationship break of them all – that of Rachel and Ross, played by Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer.

And, of course, it’s coffee flavored and finished with a Central Perk chocolate topper, hence the slight misquote from Ross’s original outburst. Not sure where the Trifle flavor comes from? It’s a play on the Thanksgiving trifle from season six, and the doughnut version is filled with strawberry and custard and finished with both chocolate frosting and sprinkles – thankfully there’s no mincemeat!

Finally, the How You Doin’? references Joey’s classic pick-up line repeated throughout the Friends universe. As an ode to it, the design matches Monica and Rachel’s apartment door and is flavored with a mango and passionfruit frosting. However, the collection isn’t being sold in the US, leading disappointed fans of both the sweet treat and the 10-series long show to lament on social media.

‘Now I feel like TikTok is taunting me cause there is no Krispy Kreme location near me AND Friends is my favorite TV show,’ penned on X, formerly Twitter. ‘Only in the UK…boooo!,’ added, while said: ‘the fact that it’s an American show and this isn’t in the US feels like a hate crime.’

Elsewhere in Krispy Kreme-related news, McDonald’s customers will soon be able to order the world-famous doughnuts along with their favorite meals. Stay tuned for more updates!
