Kia America Launches Support Initiatives for Hurricane Helene Victims

Kia America Steps Up for Hurricane Helene Victims with Assistance Programs

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, Kia America has launched two significant initiatives aimed at supporting affected customers and communities in the Southeastern United States. The hurricane, which struck on September 26, 2024, made landfall as a Category 4 storm, wreaking havoc across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

The first of these initiatives is a customer assistance program designed specifically for Kia owners whose vehicles were damaged beyond repair due to the hurricane. Eligible customers who have filed an insurance claim for a vehicle loss can receive $500 towards the purchase or lease of select new Kia vehicles. This program will be available from October 4, 2024, to January 2, 2025, providing timely financial relief to those in need.

To take advantage of this program, customers are encouraged to consult with their local Kia dealer for further details and eligibility requirements. This initiative reflects Kia’s commitment to supporting its customers during challenging times, offering a helping hand as they navigate the recovery process.

In addition to the customer assistance program, Kia America has also partnered with Kia Georgia, Inc., to donate $250,000 to the American Red Cross. This generous contribution will aid in disaster relief efforts throughout the affected regions, ensuring that essential resources and support reach those who need it most.

SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America, emphasized the company’s dedication to helping customers and local communities impacted by the hurricane. “Kia is committed to supporting our customers as well as the local communities, our friends and neighbors throughout the Southeast affected by Hurricane Helene,” Yoon stated. “We are grateful to have tremendous partners like the American Red Cross who are ready to quickly assist communities and provide a comforting hand in times of need.”

The aftermath of Hurricane Helene has been particularly challenging for many individuals and families, with widespread damage and disruption to daily life. Kia’s initiatives aim to alleviate some of the burdens faced by those affected, providing both financial support and essential aid through the American Red Cross.

Kia’s actions reflect a broader commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly during times of crisis. By stepping up to support customers and communities in distress, Kia is not only addressing immediate needs but also reinforcing its reputation as a compassionate and responsible corporate citizen.

As communities begin to recover from the impact of Hurricane Helene, programs like these from Kia America serve as a reminder of the importance of solidarity and support in times of adversity. The combination of financial assistance for vehicle replacement and substantial donations to disaster relief efforts underscores the critical role that businesses can play in helping communities rebuild and recover.

For those in the affected areas, Kia’s assistance programs represent a crucial lifeline as they work to restore normalcy in their lives. The company’s proactive approach to disaster relief illustrates a commitment to not only meeting the needs of its customers but also to contributing positively to the resilience of the communities it serves.

With the ongoing recovery efforts, Kia America’s initiatives will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the lives of many individuals and families as they navigate the challenges brought on by Hurricane Helene.
