Kentucky Wildcats Among Final Contenders for 5-Star Prospect Joson Sanon

Kentucky Wildcats have made the cut for Joson Sanon, a 5-star prospect who recently trimmed down his list of college options to six contenders. Alongside Kentucky, the remaining contenders include the Kansas Jayhawks, UConn Huskies, Boston College Eagles, Arizona Wildcats, and Overtime Elite. This decision follows a recent visit with the Kentucky Wildcats, indicating the next step in Sanon’s recruitment process.

The news was broken by Joe Tipton of On3, revealing that Georgia, Indiana, Louisville, and Providence were among those eliminated from consideration. Sanon, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard from Massachusetts, currently plays at Vermont Academy in Saxtons River (VT) and is a consensus top-15 recruit, ranked as high as ninth overall in 2025 via ESPN.

Although Sanon is still considering Kentucky, he has not yet publicly received a scholarship offer from the Wildcats. Despite this, he unofficially visited the school for the Cats’ home win over Vanderbilt on March 6th. It’s worth noting that Sanon is a reclass candidate, potentially making him a target for Kentucky in the upcoming season.
