RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 runner-up Kennedy Davenport recently shared some behind-the-scenes insight into her almost appearance on All Stars 9. Kennedy, who gained fame on Drag Race season seven and then made it to the top two on All Stars 3, was all set to sashay onto the runway of All Stars 9 as a backup contestant.
During an All Stars 9 viewing party, Kennedy revealed that she was designated as an ‘alternate’ for the season by the Drag Race casting team. This meant that she was on standby in case any of the selected stars had to drop out. Unfortunately for Kennedy, the main cast remained intact, leaving her waiting for her moment to shine on TV once again.
However, Kennedy’s fans won’t have to wait too long to see her grace the screen once more. She has been cast in Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs The World season two, a thrilling opportunity for the Dancing Diva of Texas to showcase her talents in a different setting.
Reflecting on her near-miss with All Stars 9, Kennedy humorously speculated on how her experience would have differed from the current season, especially noting the absence of weekly negative critiques due to it being a charity season. She quipped about the judges potentially having something critical to say if she had been part of the lineup.
Following her candid remarks at the viewing party, Kennedy’s representatives indicated that she considers her statements at the event to provide a comprehensive view of the situation and has no further comments to add at this time. She is looking forward to her upcoming role in Canada Vs. The World season two.
