Kelly Rizzo Opens Up About Grief and New Love with Breckin Meyer

In a heartfelt revelation, Kelly Rizzo has opened up about how her boyfriend, Breckin Meyer, has played a crucial role in helping her navigate the grief following the death of her husband, Bob Saget. Saget, who was beloved for his role on the iconic show Full House, passed away in January 2022 at the age of 65. Rizzo, who hosts the Comfort Food podcast, shared her experiences in an exclusive interview.

Since going public with their relationship in February, Rizzo has described Meyer as “the most wonderful, kind, supportive, genuine, wonderful person.” His presence in her life has been a source of comfort and strength, particularly in the wake of her profound loss. “He’s just been so supportive,” Rizzo told E! News. “Since day one, that’s just been such a big thing with him. He knew what I went through, and he appreciated it and accepted it—and always likes to talk about Bob.”

Rizzo emphasized that Meyer encourages open discussions about Saget, which she finds comforting. “It’s never like, ‘Oh, I don’t wanna mention Bob. I don’t want Breckin to feel bad about that,'” she explained. “He’s just always been so kind about it. It’s been really special. It’s really nice that I’ve been able to move forward with him.” This open communication has allowed her to keep the memory of her late husband alive while also embracing her new relationship.

Beyond their emotional connection, Rizzo expressed gratitude for how well Meyer has integrated into her life, especially with Saget’s daughters—Aubrey, 37, Lara, 35, and Jennifer, 31. The daughters, whom Saget shared with his ex-wife Sherri Kramer, have met Meyer multiple times, and Rizzo noted that they have welcomed him into their family. “It’s pretty impossible not to like Breckin,” she said. “We’ve had dinners together. They adore him. He adores them. It’s been really, really nice. They’ve kind of welcomed him.”

In a light-hearted moment, Rizzo quipped that Meyer might be the only person Saget would have been comfortable with her dating after his passing. “He’s like, ‘Alright, I’m not thrilled about any of this, but it’s got to be somebody, let it be Breckin,’” she joked, highlighting the warmth and acceptance that Meyer brings to the family dynamic.

As for the future, Rizzo is not rushing into marriage but is open to the possibility. “It’s definitely something I’m open to,” she said, acknowledging the unpredictability of life. “I truly learned you can’t plan life. Life has other plans.” This perspective reflects her journey through grief and healing, emphasizing the importance of living in the moment.

Currently, Rizzo is focused on her podcast and her newly launched initiative, the Comfort Club, which aims to create a supportive community for individuals navigating loss and grief. The idea for the Comfort Club emerged after Rizzo experienced an outpouring of support from others who have faced similar challenges. Through this platform, she hopes to provide a space for sharing experiences and fostering connections among those dealing with loss.

Overall, Kelly Rizzo’s journey illustrates the complexities of love, grief, and healing. With Breckin Meyer by her side, she is finding a way to honor her past while embracing new beginnings.
