Katie Couric, the renowned journalist, has officially become a grandmother! The joyous occasion took place on Saturday at 8:23 a.m. when her daughter Ellie gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, John Albert Dobrosky, weighing 6 pounds 15 ounces and measuring 19-and-a-half inches long.
The significance behind the name is heartwarming, as ‘John’ pays homage to the influential Johns in Ellie’s life, including her father, grandfather, uncle, and stepfather. Meanwhile, ‘Albert’ is a touching tribute to Mark’s beloved grandfather who passed away at the age of 92, just before Ellie and Mark’s marriage. The couple plans to affectionately call their baby Jay, in honor of Ellie’s late father and Katie’s husband.
Reflecting on the momentous occasion, Katie expressed her emotions, reminiscing about the milestones her late husband, Jay, would have cherished. She envisioned him bonding with little Jay, passing down their shared love for lacrosse.
