Kathie Lee Gifford Ends Feud with Howard Stern in New Memoir

Kathie Lee Gifford, the well-known television personality, recently shared details about the end of her years-long feud with Howard Stern in her new memoir, ‘I Want to Matter: Your Life Is Too Short and Too Precious to Waste.’ The feud between Gifford, 70, and the disc jockey, 70, began back in 1995 when she faced backlash after singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXIX. This negative reaction from the audience was reportedly fueled by Stern encouraging his fans.

However, after nearly two decades, Gifford decided to extend an olive branch to Stern. In her book, she describes how a simple gesture on her part led to a surprising reconciliation with Stern. The memoir, released on April 30, sheds light on this unexpected turn of events that brought an end to their longstanding rift.

In 2011, Gifford attempted to reach out to Stern to wish him well ahead of his appearance on the Today show and his role as a judge on America’s Got Talent. Despite initial skepticism from those around her, Gifford followed her instincts and made the effort to reconnect with Stern.

Reflecting on the encounter, Gifford recalled the moment she received a voicemail from an unknown number while boarding a flight. To her surprise, it turned out to be Stern expressing his gratitude for her kindness. This unexpected message marked a turning point in their relationship and eventually led to the resolution of their feud.

Through her candid revelations in her memoir, Gifford highlights the importance of forgiveness and the power of extending goodwill towards others. The story of her reconciliation with Stern serves as a reminder that even longstanding conflicts can find resolution through simple acts of kindness and understanding.
