Kanye West Faces Backlash for Referencing Taylor Swift in New Track

Kanye West is facing backlash for referencing Taylor Swift in his latest track, Carnival, from his newly-released album, Vultures, Volume 1. The explicit lyrics have sparked outrage among Swift’s fans, with many accusing the rapper of being fixated on the pop star and unable to move on from the past.

The ‘objectifying’ nature of the lyrics, particularly the X-rated lines, has incited anger among Swifties. West’s mention of Swift in the song has reignited the long-standing controversy surrounding their history, including his infamous interruption of her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs.

Swift’s supporters took to social media to express their disapproval, with some questioning West’s motives and suggesting that he is seeking attention and controversy to boost album sales and streams. Many criticized West for continually bringing up Swift in his music, with some calling for him to leave her alone and move on.
