Kansas State’s Tylor Perry and Texas’ Chendall Weaver Named Big 12 Players of the Week

Kansas State’s Tylor Perry and Texas’ Chendall Weaver have been recognized for their outstanding performances in the Big 12 men’s basketball Week 17. Both players received the Big 12 men’s basketball awards for the first time in their careers.

Perry showcased an exceptional performance, averaging 27.5 points on 63.6 percent shooting, including an impressive 63.2 percent from 3-point range, and 93.8 percent from the free-throw line. His stellar contribution helped K-State secure victories against West Virginia and Cincinnati last week. In the game against West Virginia, Perry scored a season-high 29 points, demonstrating his prowess with 3-pointers and free throws. He also exhibited remarkable all-around skills, contributing six assists and four rebounds. Perry continued his impressive form by scoring 26 points in a close match against Cincinnati, further solidifying his impact on the team. Notably, Perry has achieved nine 20-point games this season and has consistently delivered exceptional performances in recent games. It is worth mentioning that Perry has completed his bachelor’s degree in integrated studies and is currently pursuing an undergraduate certificate in conflict resolution.

On the other hand, Weaver played a pivotal role in UT’s victories, averaging 15.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. His significant contributions were instrumental in Texas’ strong defensive performances, which limited their opponents to a combined 38.2 percent shooting from the floor and showcased a remarkable rebound margin. Weaver’s standout performances included tying his season-high with 15 points in the game against Texas Tech and setting a new season-high with 16 points in the victory over Oklahoma State. He also displayed his prowess in free-throw shooting and secured a career-best in field goals, highlighting his all-around abilities. Weaver has expressed a keen interest in the communication field, adding another dimension to his promising career.

These outstanding performances have earned Perry and Weaver the Big 12 Players of the Week honors, marking a significant milestone in their respective basketball journeys.
