K-State’s Ayoka Lee Named to 2024 Big 12 All-Tournament Team

Kansas State’s senior center, Ayoka Lee, has been honored with a spot on the Big 12 All-Tournament Team following her outstanding performance at the 2024 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship.

Lee’s inclusion in the All-Tournament Team marks her as the fifth player in the program’s history to receive this recognition, and notably, the first since Megan Mahoney and Kendra Wecker in 2005.

Throughout the 2024 Big 12 Championship, Lee showcased impressive statistics, averaging 23.5 points with a .667 field goal percentage, 10.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. Her performance positioned her as the second-leading scorer among players who participated in at least two games, as well as the top rebounder and field goal percentage leader.

In the quarterfinals against West Virginia, Lee contributed 22 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks, while in the semifinals against Texas, she recorded 25 points and 10 rebounds. Lee’s exceptional performance led to her unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team and a spot on the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.

Her remarkable achievements during the 2023-24 season include averaging 19.8 points with a .620 field goal percentage, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.83 blocked shots. Lee currently ranks seventh in the nation and leads the Big 12 in field goal percentage, as well as being positioned third in the Big 12 for scoring average, second for blocks per game, and sixth for rebounding average.

Lee’s defensive prowess has been a standout feature, with 18 games of two or more blocked shots, including a season-high seven at UCF and Iowa State. Additionally, she has been recognized as a 2024 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year candidate and has accumulated two or more steals in five games.

With her inclusion in the 2024 Big 12 All-Tournament Team, Ayoka Lee continues to solidify her position as a key player in the Kansas State women’s basketball program, leaving a lasting mark on the team’s history.
