With the Lenten season upon us, many fast-food chains are offering fish sandwiches as an alternative for those abstaining from meat. In the spirit of the season, a journalist from New Jersey took on the task of ranking nine fast-food fish sandwiches available in the area. The results were surprising, as some sandwiches proved to be delightful while others left much to be desired.
The journalist’s journey began with the Arthur Treacher’s Fried Fish Sandwich, a menu item from a dwindling franchise specializing in fish. Unfortunately, the sandwich fell short, with an overwhelming taste of fried batter overshadowing the fish.
Next up was the highly anticipated McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish, known for its catchy commercials and cultural references. However, the journalist was left disappointed by the lack of flavor in this iconic sandwich.
White Castle’s Panko Fish Slider, a recent addition to the menu, managed to impress with its fish stick on a bun concept, earning it a higher spot in the rankings.
Following closely was Burger King’s Big Fish, which surprisingly resembled the taste of chicken. Despite this unexpected comparison, the sandwich fared relatively well in the rankings.
