Joey King and Logan Lerman to Star in Hulu Limited Series

Joey King and Logan Lerman are set to star in the upcoming Hulu limited series “We Were the Lucky Ones,” a gripping drama based on the New York Times bestselling book by Georgia Hunter. The series is inspired by the incredible true story of a Jewish family torn apart at the onset of World War II.

The official logline of the series highlights how, even in the face of the darkest moments of the twentieth century, the human spirit can endure and thrive, serving as a tribute to the triumph of hope and love against all odds.

Joining King and Lerman in the cast are Hadas Yaron, Henry-Lloyd Hughes, Amit Rahav, Sam Woolf, Michael Aloni, Moran Rosenblatt, Eva Feiler, Lior Ashkenazi, and Robin Weigert. The series, unveiled as part of the Hulu Spring 2024 slate, is executive produced and written by Erica Lipez, with Thomas Kail directing and executive producing alongside Jennifer Todd.

Adam Milch will also serve as an executive producer, with author Georgia Hunter as co-executive producer. The production is a collaboration between 20th Television and Disney Television Studios.

Joey King, known for her role in the true crime limited series “The Act,” is set to lead the highly-anticipated adaptation of the novel “The Uglies” and will also be involved in the production as an executive producer. Additionally, she will lend her voice to “Despicable Me 4” and appear in the Netflix ensemble film “The Family Affair” alongside Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Kathy Bates.

“We Were the Lucky Ones” is scheduled to premiere on Hulu on March 28, with the first three episodes released at once, followed by weekly installments.
