Indiana State University’s Jayson Kent has been named the Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week by the athletic department. Kent’s outstanding performance in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) has earned him this prestigious title.

In the NIT opener against SMU, Kent scored an impressive career-high of 35 points and secured nine rebounds, contributing significantly to the team’s 101-92 victory over the Mustangs. His exceptional performance continued in the Second Round with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double against Minnesota, leading the Sycamores to a 76-64 win and securing a spot in the NIT Quarterfinals.

Hailing from Oak Forest, Ill., Kent’s remarkable 11-for-12 field goal and free throw line performance on Wednesday night tied the record for the most points scored by a Sycamore in a single game this season.
