Jarred Vanderbilt ejected from game after altercation with Dillon Brooks

Los Angeles Lakers’ Jarred Vanderbilt was ejected from Monday night’s game against the Houston Rockets after receiving two quick technical fouls during an exchange with the Rockets’ Dillon Brooks.

The incident occurred in the second quarter when Vanderbilt pushed Brooks below the neck after a Lakers’ basket. This action resulted in his first technical foul. Subsequently, as Brooks walked away with his back turned, Vanderbilt tapped him on the back of the head, leading to another technical foul and his immediate ejection from the game.

It appeared that Vanderbilt was upset after Brooks had pushed him while he was in the air on a dunk just moments earlier, causing him to land awkwardly. Despite the play being reviewed for a potential flagrant foul, it was ultimately ruled a common foul by the officials.

At the time of his ejection, Vanderbilt had contributed three points and a steal in seven minutes of play, with Houston leading 46-36.
