Italy Stocks Close Lower as Telecoms, Utilities, and Healthcare Sectors Decline

Italy stocks closed lower on Friday, with the Investing.com Italy 40 index dropping by 0.18% at the end of the trading session. The decline was primarily driven by losses in the Telecoms, Utilities, and Healthcare sectors.

Among the top performers on the Investing.com Italy 40 index were Tenaris SA, which saw a 2.35% increase, STMicroelectronics with a 1.57% rise, and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa gaining 1.37% in late trading.

Conversely, the worst performers included Brunello Cucinelli, which fell by 3.66%, Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA declining by 1.66%, and Bper Banca SpA down by 1.65%.

On the Milan Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones, with 258 stocks declining, 214 advancing, and 56 remaining unchanged.

In commodities trading, crude oil for August delivery dropped by 0.10% to $81.66 a barrel, while Brent oil for September delivery fell by 0.11% to $85.17 a barrel. The August Gold Futures contract rose by 0.18% to $2,340.85 per troy ounce.

EUR/USD remained unchanged at 1.07, while EUR/GBP was also steady at 0.85. The US Dollar Index Futures decreased by 0.02% to 105.54.
