Introducing the Ducky One X Keyboard with Cherry’s Induction Switches

Introducing the latest innovation in keyboard technology – the Ducky One X keyboard, the first to utilize Cherry’s groundbreaking induction switches. These analog switches offer a unique advantage over traditional switches, promising longer battery life due to their lower power consumption.

In recent years, keyboards with analog switches have gained popularity for their ability to adjust actuation points through software. Whether you prefer a sensitive key press for gaming or a higher actuation point to minimize typos, these keyboards offer customizable options. While most analog keyboards use Hall Effect sensors to detect magnetic field changes during key presses, Cherry has introduced a new approach with inductive sensors.

The Ducky One X keyboard will be the pioneer in implementing Cherry’s inductive ‘MX Multipoint’ switches. These switches feature coils on the PCB that detect electrical field changes as the metal in the switches nears them. This design not only reduces power consumption compared to Hall Effect sensors but also minimizes interference from other electronic devices.

During a preview at Ducky’s Computex booth, the Ducky One X keyboard showcased its sleek design, available in 60 and 100 percent layouts in black or white. The keyboard offers a USB-C port for charging or wired connection, along with 2.4-GHz, Bluetooth, and wired mode options. Additionally, a USB Type-A port is included for pass-through functionality.

The Ducky One X keyboard features Cherry’s Cyan switches, known for their linear feel and ‘progressive spring’ mechanism. This unique design provides a varied tactile experience based on the depth of the key press, offering a lighter feel if the key is not fully pressed down.

With the ability to adjust actuation points through a web-based tool, users can customize their typing experience to suit their preferences. The Ducky One X keyboard sets a new standard in keyboard technology, combining innovative induction switches with a user-friendly design.
