Inflexion Games Provides Update on Nightingale’s Support for Steam Deck and Linux

Inflexion Games has provided an update on the much-anticipated open world survival and crafting game, Nightingale, and its support for the Steam Deck and Linux. The game, set in a captivating ‘Victorian gaslamp fantasy’ world, is expected to make waves upon its Early Access release on February 20th.

The developers have addressed the community’s inquiries regarding Steam Deck support, stating that although Nightingale can technically be launched and played on the Steam Deck with some controller support caveats, it will not be officially supported at launch. As a result, customer support for Steam Deck issues will not be provided initially. However, the team is actively working on full Steam Deck support and plans to update the status once confirmed.

Furthermore, the developers have welcomed feedback and bug reports from players using the Steam Deck, encouraging them to disclose their platform to facilitate internal issue recreation. While other versions of Linux are also not officially supported at this time, the team is open to bug reports with specific details on the experiencing version.

Notably, the developers have acknowledged the occasional need for keyboard or mouse input in their controller support notes but have assured players of a prompt resolution in a future update. They have also expressed openness to reported issues with Linux, a gesture that has been warmly received by the community.

As the gaming community eagerly anticipates the release of Nightingale, it is evident that the developers’ engagement with the Steam Deck and Linux communities is a positive step towards ensuring a smooth and inclusive gaming experience for all players.
