India Women’s Cricket Team Announces Squads for Multi-Format Series Against South Africa

India women’s cricket team has announced the squads for the upcoming multi-format series against South Africa, set to commence on June 16. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the three squads for the series, with Harmanpreet Kaur leading the team in all formats and Smriti Mandhana as the vice-captain.

The squads include batter Jemimah Rodrigues and pacer Pooja Vastrakar, subject to fitness clearance. The series will kick off with a three-match ODI series in Bengaluru, forming part of the 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship.

India’s Squads for the Series:

  • ODI Series: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (WK), Uma Chetry (WK), and more.
  • Test Match: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Shubha Satheesh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (WK), Uma Chetry (WK), and others.
  • T20I Series: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Dayalan Hemalatha, Uma Chetry (WK), Richa Ghosh (WK), Jemimah Rodrigues, and more.

The ODI series will be followed by a standalone Test match from June 28 to July 1 in Chennai, marking India’s third home Test in less than a year. Chennai will host a women’s Test match for the first time since 1976. The tour will conclude with a three-match T20I series from July 5 to 9, also in Chennai.

  • June 23, 2024 – 3rd ODI in Bengaluru
  • June 28 – July 1, 2024 – Only Test in Chennai

  • July 7, 2024 – 2nd T20I in Chennai
  • July 9, 2024 – 3rd T20I in Chennai
