Hilary Swank stuns at Ordinary Angels premiere

Hilary Swank turned heads at the Ordinary Angels premiere, stunning in a draped corseted dress from the Vivienne Westwood Made-to-Order collection. The two-time Oscar winner, 49, exuded elegance in a sweetheart off-the-shoulder gown made of crimson red crepe satin. Her look was complemented by soft makeup and elegant, side-swept hair, drawing attention to her glistening Kwiat 3.5 ct round brilliant-cut diamond stud earrings in platinum. Swank accessorized with a Fred Leighton Antique Ruby and Diamond Navette Cluster ring.

PEOPLE exclusively premiered the first trailer for the film in May 2023, which features Swank in the role of Sharon, a fierce but struggling hairdresser who finds a renewed sense of purpose when she meets a widower named Ed, played by Alan Ritchson. The film’s synopsis promises an inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels.

The Jon Gunn-directed project also stars Tamala Jones, Amy Acker, Drew Powell, Skywalker Hughes, and Emily Mitchell. During an appearance on the Today show, Swank revealed that the film took on added significance for her following the death of her father, Stephen Michael Swank, in October 2021. She shared that her father, a recipient of a lung transplant, had passed away, making organ donation a cause close to her heart.

Swank’s break from acting from 2014 to 2017 was to support her father through a lung transplant. In a December 2021 Instagram post, she reflected on his passing, emphasizing the importance of organ donation. The actress expressed that the film, which she feels was sent by her father, would have been his favorite of her movies, given its focus on an extraordinary human being and family.
