Halifax Snubbed from 2024-2025 SailGP Season Host List

Halifax has been left high and dry as it was snubbed from the list of hosts for the 2024-2025 SailGP season. Despite hosting a record-breaking event, the city will not see the prestigious race return next season. The SailGP race in Halifax attracted a whopping fifty-thousand spectators, with massive crowds gathering on the Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts to witness the thrilling event unfold.

The United States leads the pack with the most destinations on the event list, scheduled to host three races in the upcoming season. Cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York are set to welcome the high-speed sailing action. Meanwhile, online criticism poured in swiftly following the announcement of Halifax’s exclusion, with many expressing disappointment and frustration at the decision.

SailGP, however, remains hopeful for a return to Canada in the 2025-2026 season, aiming to reignite the excitement among Canadian fans. Despite the setback this season, the organizers are optimistic about the future and the potential for the event to make a comeback in Halifax.
