Google TV Introduces ‘Cupid’s Choice’ for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and Google TV is getting into the spirit with its latest feature, “Cupid’s Choice.” This curated content is now gracing the homescreen of Google TV, offering users a selection of romantic movies and shows to celebrate the season of love.

The “Cupid’s Choice” section is prominently featured on the homescreen of Google TV, accessible to users of devices such as Chromecast, as well as TV sets from TCL, Hisense, and others. Clicking on “Find your Match” within this section opens up a new page with a variety of recommendations, including emoji categories to add a touch of fun to the browsing experience.

According to Google, “Cupid’s Choice” includes recommendations for various categories such as romcoms, tearjerkers, favorite love triangles, and more. The list spans from favorite romcoms to favorite dating shows, catering to a wide range of romantic preferences.

In addition to the “Cupid’s Choice” picks, users can explore other Valentine’s Day shows and movies based on popular searches throughout the years. Collections such as “Our favorite romances through the ages” feature modern classics like Dirty Dancing and timeless love stories like Casablanca. Family-friendly options are also available, with categories like “Our favorite puppy love gems through the years” showcasing heartwarming tales such as Lady and the Tramp and Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.

This curated collection is not limited to a specific region, as it will be available in various countries including the US, Canada, Mexico, India, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy.

Furthermore, Google has announced an exclusive pre-screening event for the movie “A Circus Tale & A Love Song” on February 14, which will be accessible through Google TV’s free channels, specifically Xumo Free Movies. Users can catch the movie at 8pm ET and 10pm ET on Valentine’s Day.

As Google TV continues to evolve, it has also introduced new features such as homescreen video ads that now include fast food options, as well as support for call notifications and a faster way to switch to and from Bluetooth headphones. These updates aim to enhance the user experience and provide a more comprehensive entertainment platform.

With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, Google TV’s “Cupid’s Choice” is set to offer users a delightful array of romantic content to enjoy with their loved ones, catering to diverse tastes and preferences in celebration of the season of love.
