Get Ready for Sewaddle Community Day: Tips and Bonuses

Pokémon Go enthusiasts are gearing up for an exciting Sewaddle Community Day event scheduled for Saturday, October 5, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. This special event promises an abundance of Sewaddle spawns, with a significantly increased chance to encounter the elusive shiny variant. Players can look forward to a variety of bonuses designed to enhance their gameplay experience during this three-hour window.

To maximize your chances of capturing a shiny Sewaddle, it’s important to know the mechanics behind shiny rates during Community Days. Historical data indicates that shiny rates hover around 1 in 24, which means players who actively participate throughout the event can expect to find several shiny Pokémon. For those short on time or Poké Balls, utilizing an Incense can be an effective strategy. By quickly tapping on each Sewaddle and running from those that aren’t shiny, players can streamline their shiny hunting. A useful tip is that any Sewaddle previously tapped will face the player, making it easier to track which ones have been checked.

One of the highlights of the Sewaddle Community Day is the opportunity to evolve Swadloon into Leavanny during the event hours. If players evolve their Swadloon between 2 PM and 10 PM local time, the resulting Leavanny will learn the fast move Shadow Claw. For those who miss this window, there may be another chance during a Community Day weekend event in December. Alternatively, players can use an Elite TM to acquire this move sooner.

In terms of competitive viability, Leavanny is considered a decent bug-type attacker in PvE content. However, it faces stiff competition from other bug-types such as Heracross and Pinsir, as well as higher-tier Pokémon like Pheromosa and Genesect. Despite the addition of Shadow Claw, Leavanny’s performance in PvP remains underwhelming, as it does not significantly improve its rankings or offer groundbreaking advantages.

To get the most out of the Sewaddle Community Day, players should take advantage of the following bonuses available during the event:

  • 1/4 hatch distance for eggs placed into Incubators during the event
  • Doubled candy for catching Pokémon
  • Doubled chance for trainers at level 31 and above to receive XL candy from catching Pokémon
  • Incense and Lure Modules will last for three hours
  • Special Sewaddle photobombs when taking snapshots
  • One additional special trade
  • Halved Stardust cost for trading

Players are encouraged to incubate their eggs, activate Incense, and focus on catching powerful Sewaddle during this event. Additionally, if players have the ability to Mega Evolve Pokémon such as Venusaur, Beedrill, Pinsir, Scizor, Heracross, Sceptile, or Abomasnow, they should take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their gameplay further.

As the Sewaddle Community Day approaches, trainers should prepare their strategies and gear up for a day filled with shiny hunting and exciting bonuses. With the right approach, players can make the most of this event and add some impressive Sewaddle and Leavanny to their Pokémon collection.
