Georgia Tech Secures Thrilling Double-Overtime Victory Against Clemson

Georgia Tech secured a thrilling 93-90 double-overtime victory against Clemson on Tuesday in Clemson, SC. Naithan George led the charge for Georgia Tech with 20 points, supported by Kyle Sturdivant’s 18 points. The Yellow Jackets snapped a five-game skid with this hard-fought win.

On the other side, PJ Hall’s impressive performance of 31 points and 17 rebounds for Clemson wasn’t enough to secure the win. Ian Schieffelin added 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Chase Hunter contributed 18 points for the Tigers.

Georgia Tech staged a remarkable comeback after trailing 62-57 in regulation. They forced overtime with a clutch 3-pointer from George in the dying seconds. In the subsequent overtimes, Georgia Tech’s resilience and sharpshooting from beyond the arc proved decisive, as they finished 15 for 35 (42.9 percent) on 3-pointers, compared to Clemson’s 3 for 21 (14.3 percent).

Clemson’s efforts were hampered by their poor 3-point shooting and missed opportunities at the free-throw line, where they made 29 of 38 attempts (76.3 percent). In contrast, Georgia Tech capitalized on their free-throw opportunities, shooting 80 percent from the line.

The closely contested game showcased the competitive spirit of the ACC rivals, setting the stage for their upcoming rematch in Atlanta on Feb. 21.
