Garmin Unveils Edge 1050: Brightest and Smartest Cycling Computer Yet

Garmin has unveiled its latest cycling computer, the Edge 1050, touted as the ‘brightest and smartest’ in their lineup. Priced at £649.99 / $699.99 / €699.99, this new model comes with a range of tech updates and training features.

Featuring a touchscreen display, the Edge 1050 promises 20 hours of battery life, extending to 60 hours in battery saver mode. While this is impressive for regular road and gravel rides, it falls short compared to the ultra-long battery life models like the Coros Dura, which can last up to 375 hours.

With updated design tweaks and new features like contactless payment support, the Edge 1050 builds on Garmin’s reputation for providing robust fitness and training capabilities. Dan Bartel, Garmin’s Vice President of Global Consumer Sales, expressed excitement about the Edge 1050, highlighting its superior navigation and community-focused features.

The Edge 1050 also boasts an angled casing, all-metal buttons, a replaceable quarter-turn mount, and a 3.5-inch LCD. Additionally, it supports Garmin Pay Contactless payments, a feature familiar to users of Garmin smartwatches.

Garmin enthusiasts and cycling tech aficionados can look forward to experiencing the enhanced capabilities and performance of the Edge 1050, setting a new benchmark in the cycling computer market.
