Gangrel Returns to Aid Adam Copeland at AEW Double or Nothing

AEW Double or Nothing witnessed an unexpected twist as Gangrel, the former Brood-mate, made a sensational return to aid TNT Champion Adam Copeland in a barbed wire cage match. The event took place in Las Vegas, where Copeland found himself in a dire situation against Malakai Black and his House of Black teammates, Brody King and Buddy Matthews.

As Black’s allies were about to finish off Copeland by wrapping him in barbed wire, Gangrel intervened. The lights flickered red, and Gangrel emerged to spray Matthews and King, subsequently taking them out with Impaler DDTs. This allowed Copeland to capitalize and spear Black, turning the tables in his favor.

This wasn’t Gangrel’s first appearance in AEW, having previously appeared in Matt Hardy’s Elite Deletion match in 2020 and later accompanying the Young Bucks in a feud with the Hardys in May 2022. Copeland’s entrance at Double or Nothing was marked by a modified presentation, featuring a Brood graphic and the iconic Slayer track ‘South of Heaven’.

The match itself was a brutal affair, incorporating chairs, tables, and the unforgiving barbed wire. Copeland showcased his resilience by executing daring moves, including a high-flying elbow drop from the top of the cage onto Black. However, the high-risk move took a toll on Copeland, as he visibly favored his left leg towards the end of the match.

The climax of the intense battle saw Copeland locking Black in a crossface while his head was entangled in barbed wire, leading to Black passing out from the blood loss. With this victory, Copeland secured his sixth title reign since reclaiming the championship in March.

The electrifying events at AEW Double or Nothing left fans on the edge of their seats, showcasing the unpredictable nature of professional wrestling and the thrilling moments that define the sport.
