Fortnite Servers Down Ahead of Chapter 5 Season 3 Launch

Fortnite players around the world are currently facing disappointment as the popular video game experiences server downtime, causing a surge in reports on the outage tracking website DownDetector since early this morning.

Users have taken to social media to express their frustration, with one Twitter user lamenting the situation by saying, ‘Fortnite servers down must play Roblox with friends this is rough.’ Another user urgently tweeted, ‘Fortnite’s been down an hr i need it back up right now.’

DownDetector has reported a significant increase in outage reports over the last hour from players globally. This service interruption comes ahead of the planned maintenance for the game on Friday, in preparation for the launch of Fortnite update 30.00, marking the start of Chapter 5 Season 3 as Season 2 comes to a close.

The new season, titled Wrecked, is set to be released on May 24 on various platforms including PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android. The update is scheduled for a 7am BST release time in the UK, but players may have to wait until around midday to start playing the new season as server downtime for a new season typically lasts longer than usual.

Fortnite fans are eagerly anticipating the launch of Chapter 5 Season 3, which promises a post-apocalyptic Battle-Royale experience. As players await the return of the servers, the excitement for the new season continues to build.
