Fortnite OG Mode Launches Permanently Tomorrow

Fortnite OG Mode Set to Launch Permanently

Epic Games has officially announced that the highly anticipated Fortnite OG mode will be permanently integrated into the game, starting tomorrow, December 6, 2024. This exciting development comes after players expressed their love for the nostalgic gameplay experience reminiscent of Fortnite’s earlier days.

Launch Details

The Fortnite OG mode will be available at the daily reset, which occurs at 6 AM PT (9 AM ET). However, there is a possibility that Epic may activate the mode earlier, potentially around 2 AM ET. Players are encouraged to stay tuned for any updates regarding the exact launch time.

Weapons Available in Fortnite OG Mode

Players can look forward to a selection of classic weapons that will be available in the OG mode. The initial weapon list includes:

  • Assault Rifle
  • Burst Assault Rifle
  • Scoped Assault Rifle
  • Pump Shotgun
  • Tactical Shotgun
  • Pistol
  • Revolver
  • Submachine Gun
  • Tactical Machine Gun
  • Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
  • Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle
  • Grenade Launcher
  • Rocket Launcher
  • Damage Trap
  • Ceiling Zapper
  • Wall Dynamo

As the season progresses, players can expect additional weapons to be added to the roster, enhancing the nostalgic gameplay experience.

Quality of Life Changes in Fortnite OG Mode

While Fortnite OG aims to capture the essence of the original game, it will not be entirely devoid of updates. Epic has incorporated several quality-of-life changes that have been introduced over the past seven years. Notable features include:

  • Reboot Vans
  • Sniper scope glints
  • Maximum building resources capped at 999
  • Double pump enabled for shotguns

Building mechanics will remain consistent with the current gameplay, and players will still enjoy movement features like sprinting, sliding, mantling, door bashing, and moving while healing. However, wall running will not be included in this season.

Fortnite OG Battle Pass Information

The introduction of Fortnite OG mode also comes with a new battle pass system. Epic has decided to create shorter seasons and battle passes for this mode. The inaugural Fortnite OG battle pass will run until January 31, 2025, at 2 AM ET, providing players with just under two months to complete the 45 tiers.

This battle pass will allow players to earn experience points (XP) from any game mode, not just Fortnite OG. The first pass features a “modern twist” on classic items, starting with outfits such as Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber, and Skull Commander, each offering unlockable alternate styles.

Impact on the Base Battle Royale

As Fortnite OG mode prepares for its permanent launch, players are curious about how this will affect the traditional Battle Royale experience. While many gamers are eager to dive into the new season, there are concerns that the magic of the Fortnite OG mode may diminish now that it is a permanent feature rather than a limited-time offering. Nonetheless, the decision appears to align with fan desires, and the community is excited to see how these changes will unfold.

The Fortnite OG mode is set to kick off tomorrow, and players are eager to experience the blend of nostalgia and modern gameplay mechanics that Epic Games has crafted. As the launch approaches, anticipation builds, and the gaming community eagerly awaits the return to the classic Fortnite experience.
