Former RCB Teammate Criticizes Team’s Performance in IPL 2024 Season

Virat Kohli’s former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate has criticized the team’s performance in the IPL 2024 season, urging young players to step up as the team faces a challenging phase with six defeats in seven games.

Former India pacer Varun Aaron expressed concerns about RCB’s struggles in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, emphasizing the need for the team to reduce its reliance on batting maestro Kohli. With Kohli dominating the batting charts with an impressive average of 72.20 and 361 runs in eight matches, Aaron highlighted the importance of other players stepping up to support the team.

Aaron emphasized the significance of domestic players performing well for RCB to climb up the standings in the tournament. He pointed out that heavy investments in players who are not contributing on the field could be detrimental to the team’s overall performance.

Reflecting on his time with RCB, Aaron recalled being signed by the franchise for INR 2 crore in IPL 2014 and later retained for the 2016 season. Under Kohli’s captaincy, RCB reached the final in 2016, with Kohli himself securing the Orange Cap for scoring a record 973 runs in the tournament.

As RCB faced Kolkata Knight Riders in a crucial match, Aaron’s comments shed light on the team’s challenges and the need for a collective effort to turn their season around. With fans eagerly following the IPL action, the pressure is on RCB to deliver better performances and bounce back from their recent setbacks.
