Ford Launches ‘Power Promise’ Initiative to Boost EV Adoption

Starting October 1st and running through the end of the year, Ford will offer a complimentary home charging solution to new EV buyers and lessees. The installation will accommodate up to 60 amps of power and 80 feet of wire, making it a comprehensive solution for customers looking to set up home charging.

For those who already possess a home charger, Ford is providing an alternative incentive: a cash equivalent of $2,000, ensuring that all new EV customers can benefit from this program.

Becca Anderson, the senior director of customer experience at Ford’s Model e division, emphasized the uniqueness of this offering, stating, “We’re the only ones doing this. This means less stress and more convenience for our customers, making their home charging setup easy.” This initiative is particularly aimed at addressing the concerns of potential EV buyers who are still on the fence about making the transition.

Despite being the second-largest seller of EVs in the United States, trailing only Tesla, Ford faces challenges in changing the perceptions of consumers regarding electric vehicles.
