Square Enix’s Foamstars, the 4v4 party shooter title developed by Toylogic, has received the latest 1.05 update, offering a Slideboard skin as a free ‘Celebration’ item to all players. The update aims to enhance the gaming experience by introducing bug fixes and internal data changes.
Released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on February 6, 2024, Foamstars was first unveiled during the PlayStation State of Play event the previous year. Despite featuring multiple characters and dynamic game modes, the game has struggled to attract a significant player base.
In an effort to revitalize the game, Foamstars’ latest update, version 1.05, not only addresses existing issues but also provides a free Slideboard skin as a Launch Celebration item. The skin, named ‘We Are FOAMSTARS,’ is now available for all players to download and equip from the ‘Customization’ menu.
Among the improvements brought by update 1.05 are fixes for known bugs and issues within the game. Specifically, the update resolves the problem that previously prevented players from controlling the Rubber Duck during the Rubber Duck Party game mode, allowing for a more seamless gaming experience.
With these updates, Square Enix aims to entice new players to join the Foamstars community and breathe new life into the game, which has struggled to gain traction since its release.
